I have decided to sell my soul to the advertising devil and give away (well, almost) advertising space on my web sites for just US$2.50, YES thats right just $2.50 for a link and a custom message, but it is the new year and good will to all men.
With scratchback you can pre set a price and sell links on your site for as much or as little as you like, Using Scratchback.com is free and it takes 30-seconds to sign up.
ScratchBack is an online "tipping" system. It allows you, the publisher, to accept tips and "give back" links or images in return (all links are nofollow). You name your price on your tips, and you earn money from every interaction through our easy-to-use automated system. It's free to sign-up, and you can have a TopSpot widget on your website or blog in minutes.
So nothing to loose and everyone has everything to GAIN!
You're not really "selling" ads, you're accepting tips. Advertisers (your readers) do get something in return; a link or an image that displays on your site, but it's not an ad buy. They're "scratching your back". :) Example: "I love this blog, it has great information. I wish I could tip them and give them a few bucks to say thank you." Now you can offer that to them, with some fun benefits.

New Addition: Adgridwork.com
Written by David Noel-Davies

I came across ADGRIDWORK.COM when looking for some free advertising for another site of mine. It offers contextual advertising which is completely free. All this means is that you can have a text advert for your site displayed all over the internet; all you have to do in return is display some ads provided by adgridwork.
Now, you may have come across sites which advertise your site in exchange for putting some of their adverts on your site. What sets adgridwork apart is the fact that ads are displayed on similar site (often referred to as targeted ads), which helps your advert get more clicks. Not only this, but you can track your campaign and view detailed metrics such as impressions, conversions and daily hits to each of your sites. For example, I'm viewing my account now and it tells me my ads have been displayed a total of 2,952 times. As you would expect with any kind of web advert, I haven't had anywhere near that amount of clicks but everything counts. People, myself included, sometimes see ads but don't click on them at the time. They may have remembered the URL though and may visit the site later though, so even if people are just seeing your ads, and not clicking them all the time, it may be quite good.
The website's FAQ does a much better job than I can at explaining what the sites does and how it works, etc. Follow this link to view it.
As well as providing a brilliant service, adgridwork.com also looks great and has an extra fun feature which I like! That is the 'adspy' feature. You can view in real time whose ads are being displayed, and on which sites. I tested the feature by visiting my site and straight away my URL appeared in the 'Shown By' column. Its a great little feature - once you've signed up and your site is in the network, why not give it a go?!
Overall, I really like adgridwork. It provides a very useful service in an easy-to-use yet comprehensive way. The ads they provide blend in with my site, and will do with most sites that display them. Its definitely worth signing up for and giving a go, as you've really not go anything to lose!
Bidvertiser - An Alternative to AdSense?
Written by David Noel-Davies

Bidvertiser is a Cost Per Click (CPC) advertising site that competes directly with Google AdSense. Its main advantage over AdSense is its low $10 pay out!. Yep, that's ten times less than Google's $100 payout. This effectively slash your waiting period from months to weeks. For small time bloggers, this is particularly attractive.
Sounds too good to be true? I did a quick search on Bidvertiser comments and they were pretty negative - ads were completely irrelevant or their $10 payout never arrived. With that said, I still went ahead creating my Bidvertiser account. After all, what's there to lose?
A quick run through of Bidvertiser here's the results...
Well, its been just over a week since I took this silly idea on, but since then, I have signed up to Google Adsense, Bitvertise and Contentlink with some surprising results.
Google Adsense Google Adsense has the real estate on this site; it has the search bar above, the big ad at the bottom the main vertical ad bar on the right and constant referrals under the business logo telling you to download Firebox and the Google tools.
Bitvertise Bitvertise has only the vertical ad bar on the right under the 'user menu' or 'login details' depending on if you have logged in, and in addition, it shows fewer adverts than the Google Adsense bar on the right.
Contentlink This is the underlined keywords that make a balloon with a click through its just a piece of JavaScript that sits on each page of your blog and the script does the rest. Do you want to see how each of these scored, you'll be amazed at the outcome.
